EXTENSION BULLETIN No. 142 MAY 1926 THE USE OF LINES IN COSTUMING META E. MARTIN Division of Home Economics Tippecanoe County leaders receiving instruction in the use of lines in costuming. A figure study demonstration is here being given to work out the body proportions for the individual. Distinctive and harmonious dress is the result of good judgment used in the selection of color and fabrics, and the choosing and adapting of styles that suit the lines and proportions of the individual figure. There is no monopoly of the secrets of correct costuming. A comprehensive and rather keen appreciation of a few fundamentals lies within the reach of every woman. A little study and much observation will develop this appreciation. The aim of every woman should be to clothe herself so as to emphasize her best points of figure and coloring, and to minimize less attractive features.
