ji    The Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue Uaiversity convened in the I Trustees* Room of the Executive Building of the University at 10:30 a,m,, i, V/ednesday, Jaauary 23, 1946, ptirsuant to the adjournment of the moming of j January 16, 1946,. and further pursuant to the folloyring notice sent to each member of the Board by the Secretary on January 16, 1946:
President Hillenbrand has instructed me to notify you that there i    will be an adjoumed session of the stated meeting of January 16-17, 1946, i    of -the Board of Trustees of Tbe Trustees of Purdue Universi-ty on Wednesday, i,    and Thursday, Januaiy 23-24, 1946, convening at 10:30 a,m, on Wednesday,
January 23, 1946, in the Trustees* Room of the Executive Building of the j;    Universi-ty, in order to consider and act upon any matter or business that
may come before said meeting.
II, ROLL CALL, •
The meeting was called to order by President Hillenbrand at 10:30 a,m. The following Tmstees were present: Miss McHale, Messrs, Hanley, Hillenbrand, Lynn,
:Sherwood, Stuart, Thompson, and Wilson, consti-tuting a majority and quorum, Mr.
¦ Cole»s absence, due to inablli-ty to obtain traasportatioa from Florida, was ex¬ cused by consent.
Also present were President Hovde, Dean Potter, Controller Stewart, Secretary Hockema, and Assistant Secretary Skinner.
III. OPENING OF BIDS FOR TCRBO-dMERATOR AND CONDENSER.
At this time the following entered -the meeting: Mr, R. T. Hamilton, Superln- iitendent of Physical Plant, Mr. H, B. Abbett, Purchasing Agent, and Mr. G. C, King, Consulting Engineer, Physical Plant, and representatives of the companies submitting bids for -the 2500 kw turbo-generator and condenser for the Heating and Power Plant.

Controller Stewart read the names of those submitting bids as follows:
Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Dravo Corporation, Cleveland, Ohio
Elliott Company, Cincinnati, Ohio
Murray Iroh Works Company, Burlington, Iowa
Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Worthington Pump and Machinery Corporation, Harrison, New Jersey
All the bids having beea received, Coatroller Stewart proceeded to read th© bids in the presence of the bidders in accordance with the published notice.
After all bids had been opened and read, the bidders were excused. At 10:45 a.m. Messrs. Hamiltoa, Abbett and King retired to prepare a tabulation of bids.
