The Board of Trustees of Purdue University net in special session at 9:50 A. M. on August 1, 1935, in Eliza Fowler Hall, pursuant to the follow¬ ing notice mailed by the Secretaiy to each member of the Board on July 7, 1933:
"President Elliott has asked me to notify you that there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees on Tuesday, August 1, at 9:50 A. M. in the Trustees' Room in Eliza Fowler Hall."
There were present: Mrs. Meredith, Messrs. Edgerton, Hall, Hillen¬ brand, Kimbrough, Lilly, Noel, Simpson, President Ross and the President of the University.
President Ross presided and the Secretary acted as secretary.
Controller Stewart was present during most of the session.

The minutes of the annual meeting held June 12, 1953, were read and
approved.
II. PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATE OF REAPPOINTMENT.
Mr. Noel presented a duplicate of his duly o^ualified certificate of reappointment to the Board of Trustees of Purdue University, issued to him in June, 1952, the original certificate having been burned when his home was destroyed by fire in the summer of 1952. The reappointment, effective July 1, 1952, is for a period of three years.
III. CONSIDERATION OF CASE OF M. B. TRUNKEI.
President Elliott stated that he had consulted with officers of other universities and with several physicians, especially Dr. A. C. Arnett, of Lafayette, regarding Dr. Teriy's diagnosis of the illness of M. B. Trunkey, a student who died in the local hospital after an emergency operation for appendicitis, as reported to the Board at a previous meeting. He stated
