Pursuant to a call of the Governor the Board of Trustees met this day at the above Rooms; present his Excellency Gov. T.A. Hendricks, John Purdue, A.B. Claypool, M.L. Peirce, John Sutherland and John A. Stein. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. On motion, the appointment of a successor to Col. B.C. Shaw, late a member of the Board, was postponed to a future meeting. The Treasurer, M.L. Peirce, now submits to the Board his account of receipts and expenditures since the last meeting, and the same were referred for audit to an auditing committee consisting of A.B. Claypool and John A. Stein. On motion it was ordered that the members of the Board now present act as a Committee to confer, if permitted, with the Legislative committees on Ways and Means, Public Buildings and Education, and present to them the wants and interests of the University, with a view of obtaining favorable action on the part of the General Assembly, now in session, in behalf of the University. On motion Mess. [Messieurs] Sutherland and Peirce were appointed a committee to consider and settle the price of board, heat and light to be charged to the members of the Faculty, their families and transient visitors at the Boarding House—and also to confer with L.A. Burke and settle upon the amount to be allowed to him for a yearly compensation as superintendent of the Farm. On motion the meeting adjourned to to-morrow at 9 A.M. Thursday, Feb. 25, 1875—9 A.M. The Board met this day pursuant to adjournment—present as yesterday. (over)
