The iioara of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convened in the Trustees' Room of the Executive Building on the camp-as of Pui-due Univer¬ sity, Lafayette, Indiana, Wednesday, October 19, 1938, at 9:30 A. M., pursu¬ ant to the following notice which had been sent to each member of the Board by the tiecretary on O'ctooer 6, 1938:
In accordance with the provisions of the By-Lav/s, there v.ill be a stated meeting of tiie Board of Trustees of The Trus¬ tees of Purdue University, Wednesday, October 19, 1938, at 9:30 A. M. in the Trustees' Room of the Executive uuilding, located on the carapus of Purdue University, Lafc^yette, Indiana, in order to:
(1) Receive, open, consider, and act upon bids for the excavation and foundations of a Hall of Music to be located on ground owned by Purdue University, and
(2) Consider and act upon any other matter or business that may come before this Board.
II. RuijL OidjL,
The meeting was called to order at 9;o0 A. wi. oy President Ross. On roll call tiie following Trustees answered present: Miss uiicHale; Messrs. Hall, Hil¬ lenbrand, Noel, Ross, Simpson, Sturm, and V/heeler, being the majority and quorum of the Board. The folloVang Trustee was absent; Mr. Edgerton.
R. B. Stewart, Controller of the University, and Prknk C Hockema, Secre¬ tary of the iJoard, were also present.
The Secretary reported that Mr. Edgerton v/as not able to attend because of urgent business elsewhere. After discussion, and on motion of Mr. Noel, seconded by Mr. Hall, and unanimously carried, Mr. Edgerton's excuse for ab¬ sence was approved.
