I.    NOTICE OF MEETING.
The Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convened in special meeting in Room 326,   Purdue Memorial Center,  at 8:00 p.m.   on Friday,   May 31,   1963,  pursuant to suggestion made at the Board meeting held on April 17,   1963,   and further pursuant to the follow¬ ing notice sent to each member of the Board by the   Secretary on May 8, 1963:
Pursuant to action of the 1963 General Assembly,   as noted at the Board of Trustees' meeting held on April 17,   1963,  there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University on Friday,   May 31,   1963,   convening at 8:00 p. m.  CDT in Room 218*,   Purdue Memorial Union Building,   in order t^o:
1. Consider and act upon the budgets of the University,  the
Agricultural Experiment Station,  the Agricultural Extension Service,   and the Self-Supporting Enterprises for the year 1963-1964;
2. Consider and act upon any other fiscal problems related to
the budget;
3. Consider and act upon any other matter or business which
may come before said meeting.
IL    ROLL CALL.
In the absence of President Hanley,   Vice President Thompson called the meeting to order at 8:00 p. m.    He reported that he had visited with Mr. Hanley on the way to Lafayette.    He thought that Mr.  Hanley,   although still in the hospital,  was coming along satisfactorily.       ,
All members of the board except two were present as follows: Mrs.   Vogler,   Messrs.  Dicken,  Kettler,   Rumely,  Schenck,   Thompson and WUson.    The absences of Mr.   Hanley and Mr.   DeLaurier were excused by consent.    Also present were President Hovde,   Vice President and Treasurer Freehafer,   University Vice Presidents Chenea,   Mallett and Young,  Executive Assistant to the President Hicks,   Professor Andrews,   Legal Assistant Lowe, Mr.   Frank Arganbright of the Lafayette Journal and Courier,   Mr.  Gillespie, Bureau of Information,   Comptroller Hullinger,   Mr.   Ford of the Treasurer's staff,  Assistant Morris and Secretary Skinner.
*Changed to Room 326,   Purdue Memorial Center,  an air-conditioned room.
