Oliver presented his appointment which runs to July 1 – 1907. Mr Henry A.Millers appt received, said appt runs to July 1 – 1911. Mr Oliver & Mr Miller took their seats with the Board. Also received the reappointment of Mr J.M. Barrett for the term ending July 1 – 1911.Minutes of June 5 & 6 last read and approved.The Secretary read the report of the Auditing Committee for the year ending June 30 – 1906, which was on Mr Majors motion approved. [in pencil] see page 242.The Board authorized the securing of duplicate warrants to replace those lost to the following partiesO.L. Fisher for $6.50, W.M. Hepburn for 5.83 & Kellogg Switchboard & Supply Co for $26.00.The Prest [President] of Board submitted the following list of standing committees.Executive – Barrett, Major, & Stuart.Agriculture – Harris, Downing, & Miller.Horticulture – Johnson, Beem, & Oliver.Prest Stone presented the form of contract made with Wing & Mahurin of Fort Wayne the architects chosen for the Memorial Gymnasium. On Mr Majors motion contract approved. (see file “A”)Dr Stones verbal recommendations of courses in Forestry and Chemical Engineering were approved by Board.President Stone stated that a member of the County Superintendents of Schools in the State had urged upon him the addition of a course at Purdue for the training of teachers in Agriculture & Nature Study for rural schools, the matter was referred to the Prest of Purdue, and Faculty to investigate and report.A letter was read from Rev Joseph Jenks asking financial aid for Professor Shortridge who was at one time connected with Purdue, and who is now ill, and in a hospital in Indianapolis. No action taken.The Board on Mr Majors motion authorized the purchase of the necessary machinery for the grinding of grain for the Agriculture Dept.Dr Jamison of the Purdue School of Medicine was introduced, and gave full particulars regarding the relation between Purdue University and Indiana University in the matter of Medical schools. The Board entered into
