W.
Wayne
Townsend
was a
member
of the
Purdue
University
Board
of
Trustees
from
1989
to
2004
and the
Vice
Chair
from
1993
to
2004.
Townsend
discusses
growing
up
in
northern
Indiana
on a
farm
which
has been in the
family
since
the
mid
19th
century
and his
graduation
from
Purdue
in
1951
with a
BS
in
Agriculture.
He
provides
a
view
of
campus
life
and
Chauncey
Village
in the
late
1940s.
Townsend
describes
the
work
of the
Board
of
Trustees
Physical
Facilities
Committee
,
which
he was
chair
of from
1995
to
2004.
He also
discusses
the
Universitys
Strategic

in
2001
,

of
Trustees

,

and
