Abstract of InterviewKen Meyer grew up in Iowa where he attended veterinary school. His appointment at Purdue began in 1965 on the staff as an extension veterinarian with the Indiana Cooperative Extension. He talks about teaching, interaction with students, chair and coordinator of the annual conference of Indiana Veterinary Medicine Association. He served in an outreach capacity to the veterinarians in Indiana and elsewhere. The library secured a grant in 1976 from the National Library of Medicine to provide computer literature searches and reference services to Indiana veterinarians. This was the first time such a service had been offered and was very successful. Meyer talks about the library and Ann Kerker, the first librarian at the School, and her success at making it one of the best within the veterinary community.
