Abstract of Interview
Ken
Meyer
grew
up
in
Iowa
where
he
attended
veterinary
school.
His
appointment
at
Purdue
began
in
1965
on the
staff
as an
extension
veterinarian
with the
Indiana
Cooperative
Extension.
He
talks
about
teaching
,
interaction
with
students
,
chair
and
coordinator
of the
annual
conference
of
Indiana
Veterinary
Medicine
Association.
He
served
in an
outreach
capacity
to the
veterinarians
in
Indiana
and
elsewhere.
The
library
secured
a
grant
in
1976
from the
National
Library
of
Medicine
to
provide
computer
literature
searches
and
reference
services
to
Indiana
veterinarians.
This was the
first
time
such
a
service
had been
offered
and was
very
successful.
Meyer
talks
about
the
library
and
Ann
Kerker
, the
first
librarian
at the
School
, and her
success
at
making
it
one
of the
best
within
the
veterinary
community.
