| Abstract of Interview | The interview was conducted at his home in Saluda NC. A graduate of Harvard University [1939], he is the eldest of John T. McCutcheon, often called Dean of Cartoonists, who was the cartoonist for the Chicago Tribune from 1904-1944. John II worked for the Chicago Tribune in serveral positions, the first being the Metro Section and until his retirement in 1982, was the Editorial page Editor. His daughter Anne McCutcheon Lewis sent a transcript of an interview she did with her father in March 2004. With her permission it has been added as an artifact to the transcript packet with the proviso that permission to use any of the material for publication must be obtained from her. |
