Abstract of InterviewLong time Director of the Purdue Band, recounts early years as high school band director in Miami, Florida and appointment at Purdue in 1957. Relates growth of marching band including traditions such as Golden Girl Flag Corps, I am an American and High School Band Day. Also the band's annual trip to Indianapolis 500, stretching back to the early years of the 20th century and the band's First Bowl Trip, 1967 Rose Bowl.
