Abstract of InterviewGene Keady was born in Larned, Kansas. He received a BS in Biological Sciences and Physical Education, as well as a Masters Degree in Education both from Kansas State University. In 1958, Keady became the 17th Purdue basketball coach. He recounts his 25 years as Head Coach as well as, motivational tactics, recruiting and graduation rates. He also discusses home vs. away games and the NCAA. He remarks on winning 500 games. Keady has been the recipient of many awards, such as NAISMITH Award from the NAISMITH International Basketball Foundation. Quote: What I try to do is be a good teacher.
