Byron
L.
Anderson
was
born
on
September
20
,
1926
in
Winchester
,
Indiana
and
attended
school
in that
area.
He
graduated
from
Purdue
University
in
1948
with a
Bachelors
degree
in
Engineering
and
Air
Transportation.
He
served
in the US
Navy
Air
Corps
during
World
War
II
and
is
the
former
President
of
B
L
Anderson
,
Inc.
in
Lafayette
,
Indiana.
He
talks
about
his
term
on the
University's
Board
of
Trustees
as
one
of the
three
alumni
representatives
on the
ten
member
board.
His
appointment
began
on
December
1
,
1981
, a
three
year
term
, with
subsequent
re-elections
until
went
off
the
Board
in
1995.
In
November
1989
, he was
elected
Vice
President
of the
Board
Bob
Jesse
was
President.
During
his
tenure
Steven
C.
Beering
was
selected
in
1983
as
President
of the
University.
Anderson
served
as
Chairman

Committee.
