Abstract of InterviewVirgil Anderson is an Emeritus Professor of Statistics. He recounts his work as Head of the Statistical Laboratory at Purdue. Anderson also discusses his teaching style, students, curriculum and departmental changes. A faculty member during the Hovde and Beering presidency, he also recounts campus life in the 1950s and 1960s. Following his retirement Anderson moved to Texas and taught statistics for ten years at the University of Texas Austin.
