Indiana
University-Purdue
University
Fort
Wayne
was
created.
The
Krannert
building
was
dedicated
and the
Graduate
House
(later
known
as
Young
Hall)
was
completed.
The
Civil
Engineering
building
was
dedicated
as
well.
The
fire
station
next
to the
residence
halls
was
created.
Tower
Acres
was
created
for
fraternity
housing.
A
new
basketball
arena
and
football
practice
field
was
being
created.

The
new
high-rise
math
building
was
being
created
on
top
of
Purdue
Hall's
old
site.
Purdue
helped
create
a
university
in
India
,
along
with the
help
of
other
schools
across
the
United
States.
Purdue
University
was the
only
university
from the
United
States
that
took
part
in the
Invitational
World
Festival
for
University
Theater
in
France.
The
festival
drew
groups
from
over
twenty
countries.
Columbian
sugar
companies
paid
for the
Purdue
University
band
to
play
a
South
American
goodwill
tour.
The
first
nursing
graduates
were
introduced
this
year.
