The
new
Heavilon
Hall
opened.
Every
student
received
a
hearing
and
sight
exam
in the
building
as
part
of their
health
check.
Echo
free
rooms
were
created
in the
building
to
do
calibrating
on
audio
tools.
Just
like
every
year
prior
, the
seniors
line
up
for their
Senior
Cord
day
parade.
Students
donned
yellow
corduroy
pants
and
skirts
(known
as
"cords")
,
derbies
,
canes
, and
beards.

After
the
first
snow
of the
year
the
tennis
courts
behind
the
RSC
were
used
for
ice-skating.
Purdue
held
its
annual
elections
in
grand
form
to
see
who
the
masses
thought
would
win
the
upcoming
election.
Representatives
from
Congress
were
keynote
speakers
and
after
the
elections
President
elect
John
F.
Kennedy
stopped
at
Purdue
University
to
muster
support
and
thank
students
for
electing
him in their
mock
elections.
