The first nuclear reactor in Indiana was installed at Purdue University. Dean E. C. Young of the graduate house retired and was succeeded by Dr. Fredrick Andrews.
Description ContinuedThe new graduate house was almost completed and work began on the Krannert School of Management. T. R. Johnson, head of the Bureau of Information, retired after 46 years of service. Birch Bayh, Jr. was the first Purdue University graduate, was elected to the United States Senate.
