DescriptionPhotograph of Dr. Edward Elliott; He delivered the principal address at launching of the SS Purdue Victory; He expressed Purdue's thanks at being chosen to lend its name to the 10, 800 ton Purdue Victory. Tribute was paid to the University by T. A. Bedford, Assistant General Manager of Richmond Yard. Two, who cited the school's high standing in academic and research departments, the engineering school and its housing research institute. Dr. Elliott came to California to attend the christening and launching and left afterward by plane for Washington in connection with his government war activities.
