DescriptionAfghan Queen at Purdue Tea - Her Majesty, Queen Homaira of Afghanistan, seated center, chats with her Purdue university hostesses at a tea at the University's School of Home Economics Monday (Sept. 16) as the Queen and His Majesty King Mohammed Zaher, wound up a 12-day official tour of the nation with a six-hour visit at the institution. From left are Prof. Edna Meshke, head of the department of clothing and textiles at Purdue; Dr. A.G. Ravan Farhadi, afghan embassy counselor and interpreter for the queen; the Queen; Mrs. Frederick L. Hovde, wife of the Purdue president, and Miss Mary Louise McRoberts, senior in Home economics from East St. Louis, Ill. (daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James W. McRoberts). Miss McRoberts was selected to carry the Queen's refreshments at the tea.
