DescriptionPurdue University History, Homecoming 1962. Two Aces and A Queen. Guests at Purdue's Homecoming banquet over the weekend included left to right: Bob Friend, pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates; Sharon Curfman, Brownsburg, Purdue's 1962 Homecoming Queen; and William "Moose" Skowron, first baseman for the New York Yankees. Both Friend and Skowron returned to their Alma Mater for Homecoming, Friend having graduated in 1953 in science and Skowron in 1952 in physical education. They are two of the best known players in baseball today.
