| Description | Purdue University History, Homecoming 1963. Lafayette, Ind. -- One of these five girls will be named as Purdue University's Homecoming Queen at the Purdue-Iowa game Saturday. "Her Highness" will be crowned at half-time ceremonies, the other girls comprising her court. Shown left to right are Sonia Graciela Rosenbaum, Guatemala City, Guatemala; Marilyn Jo Williams, R.R. 4, Muncie; Carole Sue Adams (10720 Indian Creek Rd.) Acton, Ind.; Shelley Anne Freeze (452 Pinedale Dr.) Atlanta, Ga.; and Barbara Ann Schneider (5034 East 67th St.) Indianapolis. Miss Rosenbaum, a junior majoring in mathematics, represents Wood Hall, women's housing unit. She graduated from the American School of Guatemala. Her father is a businessman and her brother, Alfredo, graduated from Purdue in 1959 and received an MS degree in 1960. A sophomore in home economics, Miss Williams represents Shoemaker House. She is a graduate of Yorktown (Ind.) High School. Miss Adams, a junior in English literature, graduated from Franklin Central High School, and she is representing Duhme Hall in the contest. She was once selected as "Miss Marion County." A member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Miss Freeze is a junior in the humanities school. Although her parents now live in Smyrna, a suburb of Atlanta, Ga., she graduated from John Adams High School, South Bend. She was a princess in the Indianapolis "500" Festival and in the Indiana Patio and Garden Show. Representing Hall X, Southeast, Miss Scheider is a junior majoring in languages. She graduated from North Central High School and her father is a buyer for Eli Lilly and Co. |
