About the Collection

This collection is a rich source of Purdue history, showing the campus grow from its earliest years to present.  Currently there are more than 2,600 images in the collection.  You may use one of the following special searches in order to find general images or you may use the advanced search to help pinpoint the campus scene you are interested in.

Advanced Search

Use the Advanced Search to narrow your search results. We have detailed instructions for the advanced search in the help system. The help system is also available from the Advanced Search page. When creating your search, limit your search to one or more of the collections found in the drop-down menu used for browsing collections.

Digitization Standards

The Digital Initiatives group has established standards for all of the scanning projects that are undertaken by the Purdue University Libraries.  For more information go to the Digital Initiatives Project Manual.

Saving and printing in PDF format

To help you in your research many documents come with a PDF copy that you may download to your local drive. If the drop-down menu has an entry that refers to a print version (see below) then you will be able to download a PDF copy.

In the upper left hand corner select complete print version and press go. The document will then display in the window as a PDF. You can easily save the PDF and print from that version.

About us

There are numerous people that have been involved with several of the collections. Sammie Morris has given the staff the vision to focus on disseminating Purdue history to a larger audience. Numerous student employees have diligently scanned the photographs and documents. Carl Snow assumed overall management of each of the projects. Jan Addison ensured that the final quality checks were done and managed the metadata for each of the projects.
